Natural Gas gathering compressors are uesed in oil&gas field for boosting natural gas to required pressure.Natural gas gathering compressors are reciprocating gas compressors with stage range from 1(one) to 5(five).They are driven by electric motor,natural gas engine or diesel engine.These kinds of compressors are usuallly located at wellhead or in a trunk line being fed by several reservoirs.Reciprocating compressor packages are built on rigid structural skids.Compressors can be located and relocated as customer's need.
How does gas gathering compressor work?
One gas gathering compressor works on the principle of gas moving from a lower pressure to a higher pressure. A reciprocating compressor is used to create a pressure differential by pulling the gas from the wells and pushing it into the gathering system. The compressor is driven by an electric motor where power is available or a gas fired engine using a small amount of gas from the feed lines,even by a diesel engine.
